William Carlos Williams: Poems about Pictures

Some first-rate posts going up at my friend Mark's blog Culture Industry about William Carlos Williams! I'm particularly interested in his comments on poems that Williams writes in response to newspaper photographs: political pictures, mostly, of refugees, soldiers' coffins coming home, etc. Given the news these days, one could certainly put together lesson plans on ekphrastic poetry (that is, poems based on works of art) that would include such pictures as starting points, and these Williams poems could serve as models.
